Tierra Maya
The name Tierra Maya was chosen to reflect the deep connection between the land, its culture, and its history.
“Tierra” means land: the natural beauty, landscapes, forests, rivers, reefs, and villages that make Belize and Central America so unique.
“Maya” honors one of the most important civilizations of this region, whose heritage is still visible today in the archaeological sites, traditions, communities, and cultural identity of the area.
Together, Tierra Maya represents our mission: to create authentic travel experiences rooted in the land, the people, and the cultural richness of Belize and Central America.
Our Story
Tierra Maya DMC was founded in 2016, building on more than 20 years of experience in the travel industry in Italy.
With the opening of K’in Resort in Placencia, Tierra Maya established its local office at the resort, strengthening its presence in southern Belize. Since 2023, the company has also been operating daily excursions and travel experiences for K’in Resort guests, while continuing to develop tailor-made itineraries, tours, transfers, and destination services throughout Belize.
Our goal is to support European, American, and Latin American tour operators with reliable, tailor-made services throughout Belize and Central America. We understand the needs of international partners and the importance of working with a local DMC that is responsive, transparent, and trustworthy.
Based in Placencia Peninsula, we operate directly from the heart of one of Belize’s most beautiful coastal destinations. Over the years, we have built a solid network of carefully selected local suppliers, guides, transport companies, hotels, and service providers.
Central America is a fascinating destination, but it can also be complex. Finding reliable partners is not always easy, and this is where Tierra Maya makes the difference.
